Mercedes Pimiento studied Fine Arts in Sevilla University and in Winchester School of Art (UK), and a Master degree in arts creation and research in Barcelona University, currently she is studying a PhD at the same university.
She has been part of exhibitions in spaces as Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (Sevilla), Centro de Creación Contemporánea de Andalucía (Córdoba), Centro José Guerrero (Granada), MAC Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (A Coruña) or Fabra i Coats – Centro de Arte Contemporáneo (Barcelona), and she has shown her artworks in solo and group exhibitions in arts galleries as Galería Javier Silva (Valladolid), Galería Fran Reus (Mallorca), Galería Alarcón Criado (Sevilla) o la Galería Luis Adelantado (Valencia).
She has won grants from institutions as INJUVE, Fundación Guasch Coranty (Barcelona), Programa Iniciarte (Andalucía) or thel Programa de Formación Comunidad de Madrid – Openstudio (Madrid).
She is co-founder and coordinator of FASE- Space of creation and thinking, it is a project linked with the contemporary artistic practises based in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), since 2018 she has carried out many exhibition, mediation and education projects.
