Sheida Soleimani is an Iranian-American multimedia artist whose body of work stands as a critique of the Iranian human rights violations and current state of affairs pertaining to the region.
Taking inspiration from contemporary compositions, she portrays an almost grotesque emotion in her pieces, contrasting it with the use of bright colours and figuration.
Her works represent a rebellion against a confined norm and idea of her heritage, with abstract elements placed in the midst of the literal.
