Cecilia Granara

Cecilia Granara (1991) was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, lives and works in Paris.
Through her extended painting practice she draws on self-fiction, poetry and symbolic iconography . She is interested in cultural attitudes to bodies, spirituality and nature, and the use of color as a vehicle for emotions.
She studied at Central St. Martin’s School of Art and Design in London and at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris as well as Hunter College in New York City. Solo shows include “Tazas y Arcos” at the Italian Cultural Institute, Mexico City, “No Love Without Grief”, “Quatre Coeurs” and “0 infinity 21” at Exo Exo, Paris, “Lasciare Entrare, Lasciare Andare” at Studiolo Project, Milan, « Brittle Stars » at Sapling, London.
She participated in institutional shows at Fondation Ricard, Château La Coste, CAC Passerelle, Centre d’Art Parc Saint Léger, Musée Cérès Franco, ps120 Berlin. She has exhibited in group shows at Galerie Jerome Poggi, Galerie Jousse Entreprise, High Art, Brigade Copenhagen, Laguna, México. She was a finalist in the Antoine Marin Prize in 2019 and was nominated for the Cairo Prize in 2021. Her work is part of the X Museum collection, Beijing. She was selected for the HFBK Residency in Hamburg in 2021, CP Projects Milan in 2022, and Territoires Extra Residency as part of CAC Passerelle in France in 2023.
